birthday boy
going to Tanjung Pinang for a holiday 2moro, without my parents sadly. but at least i still have my aunts and uncles, so it shouldn't be that bad. anyway, i'm sort of "rich" now since i have been collecting some money over the past few days since my birthday. and i'm 16!!! finally. phew. so now, i'm gonna invest almost all my money in building up my mini-workshop. i've been wanting this since primary school, but it sounded too childish at that time. hope to post some pics over next few weeks about the progress of this project. it may sound like a boring way to waste the money but i just love these sort of stuff. anyway, i clocked up several achievements this month since my holidays started. i fixed the clutch in the 10+ yr old Subaru belonging to my aunt. i reattached the rear-view mirror with some clever drilling and mounting (hehe!). i have restored most of the furniture at home too. my dining table set which was rusted like hell, is now shiny and looks spanking new. my dad's rocking chair is free of squeeks and much more rigid. also, i have been working on a project of my own. i'm building a gearbox that i could use to play with my racing games on the PC. i know it sounds a little impossible but i've done research on ppl around the world doing it. the problem is, i do not have the tools and machinery like they do in the US and UK. which could be a problem since i'm a student and i do not have any money, also in addition the amount these tools cost here. but i will stand up to this challenge to build this using anything i could get my hands on. including lots of improvisations. the only advanced tool i would be using is a hand-drill. so, wish me luck.
